Njoki Ngacha, the founder of Gikuyu Women in the USA (Gwitu), has appointed Mary Waceke, CEO of Data Networks Learning LLC, as the new CEO of Gwitu.
The announcement was made during the Gwitu reunion 2024, held from June 27th to June 29th at 4900 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX.
In her acceptance speech, Waceke expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the members, board members, and organizers of the Dallas chapter, as well as the women who attended the Gwitu event.
She emphasized her commitment to strengthening the organization and highlighted key areas of focus for her tenure.
She said that her primary agenda will include investment due diligence to ensure that the organization makes informed financial decisions.
She plans to promote education and mentorship, targeting fields such as healthcare, IT, law, and aviation.
Additionally, she aims to enhance community outreach through initiatives related to travel and tours.
Moreover, Waceke outlined a broader agenda encompassing creative and artistic pursuits, youth empowerment, celebration of successes within the community, and fostering public participation.
Her vision is to create a vibrant, supportive environment for Gikuyu women in the USA, where members can thrive both personally and professionally.
During the reunion, Waceke also acknowledged the collective efforts of all participants, praising their dedication and enthusiasm.
