Christine Adhiambo Muganda, a 24-year-old hailing from Oyugis, has made headlines as the inaugural winner of the weekly SportPesa Mega Jackpot Bonus, securing an impressive KSh 2.3 million.

The Health Records student at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) clinched this significant prize by accurately predicting the outcomes of 15 out of 17 matches.

Adhiambo, who has been tirelessly selling charcoal after her classes to finance her education, shared the exhilarating moment she received a text message declaring her the jackpot winner. This unexpected windfall has come as a game-changer for the diligent KMTC student.

The 24-year-old recounted her surprise, admitting that she hadn’t been closely following the games until her husband brought the news to her attention. The following morning, a congratulatory message from SportPesa confirmed her newfound millionaire status.

“I placed my bet the previous morning while praying for good tidings on the way to church. It was a pleasant surprise to receive the message,” she recalled.

Expressing her gratitude for the financial stability this win brings, Adhiambo sees the prize money as a gateway to new possibilities. The first-year student has already set her sights on the next challenge — winning the Mega Jackpot, which currently stands at an impressive KSh 346 million.

“Now that I have received my cheque, I will go back and plan the best way to use the cash. I won’t stop playing,” she added with enthusiasm.

Having actively participated in SportPesa since January 2023, the soft-spoken student sees this victory as a testament to her perseverance and strategic approach to the game.
