Nanny Rosie Reveals Why She Can’t Allow Her Former Lebanon Boss into the Country

Kenyan content creator and former nanny, Rosie, has responded to growing calls for her to offer refuge to her former employer, Mama Maria, amid the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

Mama Maria, who had employed Rosie as a nanny during her time in Beirut, recently shared an emotional video showing the aftermath of a nearby explosion that has left her and her family in constant danger.

In the viral video, Mama Maria made a heartfelt plea for help, expressing the trauma her children faced as the conflict with Israel escalated.

Her distress prompted many social media users to reach out to Rosie, urging her to offer safe haven to her former employer and her family, including their twins, in Kenya.

However, in a statement on her social media platforms, Rosie revealed the reasons why she is unable to accommodate her former boss.

While she expressed deep sympathy for Mama Maria’s situation, Rosie explained that she cannot legally host the family in Kenya due to immigration restrictions and financial constraints.

“I understand the outpouring of concern, and it breaks my heart to see what is happening to Mama Maria and her children. But bringing her to Kenya is not something I can facilitate,” Rosie said in her post.

She highlighted the complex process of applying for refugee status and securing the necessary travel documentation, which would take time and significant resources.

Rosie also clarified that while she cherished the bond she had with Mama Maria, her own circumstances as a content creator and caregiver made it difficult to take on the responsibility of hosting a family fleeing a conflict zone.

“It’s not just about wanting to help; it’s about what is realistically possible. I am not in a position to offer the kind of support needed in such a critical situation.”

Rosie concluded by expressing hope that international organizations and humanitarian agencies could step in to provide Mama Maria and others affected by the conflict with the necessary assistance.
