A kenyan student who scored A- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE) has shared her interesting journey after landing a well paying job at Coca-Cola.
Miriam Kaburu who was born and raised in Nanyuki,Laikipia County journey to success began after showcasing exemplary results in the Nation examinations.
“I attended Thingithu Primary School for three years before completing my KCPE at Nanyuki Primary School, scoring 377 out of 500 marks. For secondary school, I joined Likii Hill School in Nanyuki for a year and a half, then completed my education at Loise Nanyuki Girls, graduating with an A- (80 points) and emerging as the top female student in my sub-county,” Kaburu said in an Interview.
She later secured a schoralaship with one of the leading banks in Kenya that took her to top international university, the university of Michigan on a full ride schoralarship from the master card foundation to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Biosystems engineering.
”I moved to the US in 2017 to undertake my education journey,” She narrated.
After completing her degree programme, she later moved to Canada on a full-ride schoralaship to pursue a master’s in intagrated food and bioprocessing engineering from McGill university.
“Even though it was challenging, I was resilient and graduated with a 3.85 GPA,” Kaburu a mother of one said.
After earning her Master degree, Kaburu applied for a job at Coca Cola and six month after her job application received her lifetime opportunity.
“I applied to Coca-Cola only once, but it took me over six months to land this role post-graduation, with many rejections from different companies. What inspired me to apply to the company was its reputation for innovation and commitment to quality. I was also drawn to their global presence and the opportunity to work with divers team,”
After landing the job, Kaburu says she has been able to apply the required skills in process control to ensure their products meets the highest standards.
